Interior prep by Bobby Kleinaman, Griffith, Indiana. All custom bracket and wiring fabrication by owner. Help from sons Derek and David, son-in-law Gary Grimler, and 409er Bill Horvat.
Engine: 472 W-motor by Van Senus Auto Parts, Hammond, Indiana. Reciprocals assembly by Tom Miksich. Factory #690 iron heads and aluminum intake manifold. Secret 0.700-inch lift cam. Pete Jackson gear drive. Edelbrock AFB carbs. MSD ignition. Hooker headers. Flowmaster mufflers.
Driveline: Chassis work by owner and Donny Miller/DME Race Cars, Schererville, Indiana. QA1 front coilovers. 2-inch dropped spindles. Four-wheel disc brakes. 9-inch rearend with Koni rear shocks, Moser axles, and 4.88:1 gear ratio. Weld Racing 3.5x15 front wheels with M/T Sportsman tires. Weld Racing 10x15 rear wheels with M/T ET Street 13.5x30 tires. Jerico four-speed, Long shifter, and Ram Clutch by Jimmy Pullman at Surge Friction Clutch & Driveshaft Co.
Personal: Age 67. A Midwest veteran 409er back in the '60s and a high-performance Chevy man for over 50 years. Many past 409 show and go winners. '67 Chevelle SS 396 ('68-'69 AHRA Class Record Holder), '80 Super Gas Camaro, '86 Super Comp Camaro. 2010 HR2 Finalist at Fred Totten 348-409 Memorial Shootout. Currently owns a loaded '70 SS396 Chevelle from the Bruce Litton collection.
