Barely on the scene long enough to get its tires wet, the new-for-2017 Compass will make its first Moab appearance in just a few weeks. To ensure it doesn’t feel neglected while the rest of the family gears up for the trek, Jeep designers treated it to a few select mods aimed at helping it adapt to life on the rocks, and they dubbed the result the Trailpass. Motivation comes by way of the standard 2.4-liter Tigershark four-cylinder engine and nine-speed automatic transmission that powers the stock Compass. A 1.5-inch lift kit teams with 18-inch wheels shod with Continental TerrainContact all-terrain tires for improved off-road ability. Exterior tweaks include gloss-black side-mirror caps, a custom hood graphic, side stripes, and dark-tinted head- and taillamps.
