Let the controversy reign! Western Canadian drag racing icons Ron Hodgson, Bob Papirnick, and Harold Parfett debuted in mid 2015 what was arguably the most modern nitro Nostalgia Funny Car ever conceived. The 1969 Camaro-bodied car is the first ever creation from California’s Victory Race Cars that includes a prototype Victory Race Cars-built carbon-fiber body. While built to be absolutely 100-percent legal for both the NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series and IHRA AMSOIL Nitro Funny Car class, the creative machine does venture first into the new reality for what nitro Nostalgia Funny Car racing will become. The car, which is being driven by Ron Hodgson’s son Ryan, receives its primary backing and good looks from fabled California-based Troy Lee Designs along with major associates Castrol Canada, Ron Hodgson Chevrolet-Buick-GMC, and Ace Manufacturing. Amazingly, on the car’s first full pull down a dragstrip, it set a track speed record of over 254 mph!
