Chevrolet killed the Camaro after the 2003 model year, then brought it back for 2010 with a 6.2-liter 426-horsepower V8 engine. It got a lot more power for 2012, when Chevrolet tweaked the Cadillac CTS-V's 6.2-liter V8 to churn out 580 horsepower in the new Camaro ZL1. While the ZL1 would be bested by the 662-horse Ford Shelby GT500 a year later, the ZL1 was the fastest Camaro ever, posting a 4.0-second zero-to-60-mph time and conquering the quarter-mile in 12.3 seconds. Handling was also enhanced by the CTS-V's Magnetic Ride Control suspension, lightweight wheels and sticky Goodyear Supercar tires.
