The Evolution of the 1932 Hot Rod Roadster


Though probably not the first Deuce roadster to race on California's dry lakebeds, Vic Edelbrock's rolling speed-parts laboratory defined the multipurpose pre-war hot rod. Stripping the fenders and running boards from Vic's daily driver revealed a relatively low, sleek roadster with perfect form and proportion for open-wheel racing. The '32 Ford has the unique distinction of looking like it was designed to run with or without fenders, and the detailed stamped frame just begs for exposure in highboy form (meaning the body is atop the frame as stock, not channeled over it).
