Easily one of the most eye-catching new race teams unveiled during all of 2012 was the highly impressive two-car Pro Mod Camaro effort fielded by Oklahoma’s Keith Haney and Monroe Guest. Both Haney and Guest made driving debuts behind the wheels of nearly identically prepared ’12 Camaros at about mid-season. Both cars, built by Stroupe Race Cars, are powered by nitrous-injected Reher-Morrison engine programs. The team is overseen by crew chief Jeff Pierce; however, Haney also employs the services of fellow Pro Mod racers Brandon Pesz and Doug Riesterer as tuners and consultants. In 2012, the team focused, for the most part, on racing within the ADRL’s “NHRA Pro Mod Legal†category. But, beginning in 2013 expectations are to venture into NHRA’s quarter-mile Pro Mod Challenge Series events as well. Team owner Haney is the co-owner of Tulsa Raceway Park, while Guest was formerly a very reputed driver within NHRA’s Top Alcohol Dragster category.
