Wallpaper Description:
Camaro driver Mike Weifel picked the absolute perfect time and place to win his very first NHRA national event title. The Nashville, Tennessee-based racer took his 427ci G/SA-classed ’69 to drag racing’s most coveted event title – winning NHRA’s 58th running of the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals at Indianapolis last September. Mike’s Stock Eliminator title came over a truly massive field, which saw no less than 166 cars vie for the 128 available qualifying slots. After qualifying 43rd (at 0.961 seconds under his index), Weifel then won seven dramatic rounds of competition. Mike began racing in Stock Eliminator back in 2000. His previous best finish at the national event level had been a trip to the semifinals, which he had done three times. His car features an engine program by Eric Wingo and a three-speed GM 200 transmission built by Thomas Arnett.
