’71 Chevelle & ’69 Corvette

We like it when readers submit multiple rides and, in this case, Dwain Steppig has two street machines to make anyone envious. First is a ’71 Chevelle that he says was a labor of love. He told us, “It started out as a basic Chevelle and I dropped in a 454ci big-block out of a ’76 Chevy truck. With the flat-top pistons, swap meet heads, and a COMP cams ’stick, it’s now sporting 425 hp. I even added a 700-R4 transmission out of our family Astro van.” The ’69 Corvette has a 390hp 427 with a four-speed transmission and is still a work in progress.
