Wallpaper Description:
Thanx to the Automobile Knowledge of Ozzy5555 I know now that these Car is a Splinter ..

You think the Car and the plane are very different ? No ..in a time where everybody use Metals both the Splinter car and the de Havilant Mosquito are made from Wood ...

The Splinter is an original project of a high-performance sportscar concept made of wood composites. It was started by industrial designer Joe Harmon to explore new materials and ideas.

The de Havilland Mosquito was a British combat aircraft that excelled in a number of roles during the Second World War. Originally conceived as an unarmed fast bomber, uses of the Mosquito included: low to medium altitude daytime tactical bomber, high altitude night bomber, pathfinder, day or night fighter, fighter-bomber, intruder, maritime strike and photo reconnaissance aircraft. It was also used as the basis for a single-seat heavy fighter, the de Havilland Hornet. The aircraft served with the Royal Air Force (RAF) and many other air forces during the Second World War and postwar (see Operators below). The Mosquito was known affectionately as the "Mossie" to its crews and was also known as "The Wooden Wonder" or "The Timber Terror" as the bulk of the aircraft was made of laminated plywood.

The Mosquito was a very HOT Aircraft. Shoot it full of Holes, Land it, Patch The Wood, Done!

Built at the DeHavilland Aircraft Co. about 10 Miles from where I use to live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Same place as the Ill-Fated Avro Arrow was built and then SCRAPPED!! What a F--K UP that was! Story goes that Prime Minister Diefenbaker (BLAH) was "CONVINCED" by "OTHERS" that it was the right thing to do. BS!!!!

It was a BEAUTIFUL Aircraft! Well ahead of it's time!! SAD DAY!!
