Chevrolet Performance 1967 Camaro Hot Wheels Concept

Chevrolet Performance 1967 Camaro Hot Wheels Concept - blue, bowtie, classic, gm
Flag This Wallpaper Add to Favorites Enlarge Wallpaper
Wallpaper Description:
Paying homage to the very first Hot Wheels die-cast Camaro, this life-size concept attempts to recreate the look of the iconic toy car. The Camaro sports a Kinetic Blue paint scheme — the same as the 2013 Chevy Camaro Hot Wheels Edition, and a nod to the original toy’s blue Spectraflame color — along with staggered 18-inch alloy wheels with red-line accents, stainless steel “zoomie” side-exit exhausts, shaved door handles, a custom hood, and Hot Wheels emblems. Since blowing up a 1:64-scale toy to life size poses a few challenges, designers took some liberties with the original toy’s styling elements to avoid making them look “too cartoony” on a full-scale car.

For an interior, the ’67 Camaro Hot Wheels concept gets white leather bucket seats from a 2012 Camaro with shortened head rests and blue accent stitching, along with a silver vinyl-wrapped instrument cluster, silver vinyl door panels and inner rear quarter panels, silver headliner and sunshade, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

The best part about the show car may be what’s under the hood, as the concept uses a new LS3 E-Rod Connect and Cruise crate powertrain system. That retrofitted setup includes a 430-hp V-8 engine mated to a 4L65-E four-speed automatic transmission, and is emissions-compliant and legal for installation in more than 20 million pre-OBD II vehicles in California, according to Chevy. The Camaro also gets a hydroformed front subframe with tubular control arms, four-link adjustable rear suspension, adjustable front and rear coil-over shocks, rack-and-pinion steering, and four-wheel disc brakes with six-piston calipers.
