Nicole Kinderwater of Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, is so proud of her husband’s accomplishment that she sent us a few images of his F-100 project. According to Nicole, Mike purchased his truck more than 25 years ago when he was 12 years old (using money he earned from a paper route). He knew at that age that this was his dream truck. He took a go at rebuilding the truck as a teenager and drove it during summers for years. About five years ago or so he decided to do a frame-off restoration, and boy, when he says frame-off, he means it. Mike actually ditched the original chassis and put the ’56 Ford cab and bed on a ’92 Dodge Dakota frame. Of course both the Dodge chassis and the F-100 cab and bed had to be modified to fit but that didn’t stop Mike from performing the rodstoration work himself in his home garage. Though he did have a bit of help, Mike did nearly everything himself, right up to F-100’s custom paint. Being an accomplished machinist, Mike fabricated a bunch of handmade custom pieces as well. The truck was officially completed this spring, and we can see why Nicole is proud.
